Ruth Watkins understands that everyone is special and we all deserve some time out from our busy lives. Time to recharge your batteries, time to meet and make new friends, time to nurture your creative side. Wooden-it-be-Lovely Decorative Painting Studio  tries to meet all these needs as well as being a  fun, friendly and informative place to learn the art of Decorative Painting.

One of the great things about decorative painting is that with a little practice everyone can learn how to do it. You don't need to be able to draw as specially designed patterns are used. Once you have learnt the basic brushstrokes you'll be painting flowers, fruit, teddy bears and more on all sorts of useful items for the home and garden. In fact anything that stands still long enough is in danger of being painted!

Wooden-it-be-Lovely was started by in 2002 by Ruth Watkins who is a DecoArt Helping Artist, One Stroke Certified Instructor(OSCI) and a former member of the British Association of Decorative and Folk Arts (BADFA).

As well as teaching, Ruth is also a freelance designer for Crafts Beautiful magazine, and has designed a range of collage and scrapbook papers which are available for purchase from the online shop. She has also writen a book published by Search Press titled "Hand Painted Rustic Cards" which is also available from our online shop.
